Maurice Lubbock Memorial Lecture 2009 (Thursday 18 June 2009)
The 2009 Lubbock Lecture was rather later in the year than usual; the Project Exhibition, which usually coincides with the Lubbock Lecture, instead took place on Thursday 14 May. On Lubbock Day, there was a Spin-out Exhibition, in which companies spun out from Engineering Science explained their business, during the afternoon in the Holder Common Room (coinciding with tea).
Tea was followed by the 35th Maurice Lubbock Memorial Lecture, given by Professor John Beddington, the Government Chief Scientific Advisor and Head of the Government Office for Science: Science, Engineering and Technological Challenges for the 21st Century
The day ended with a buffet supper in the Holder Common Room.
