2007 Annual Meeting (Saturday 15 September 2007)
The 2007 meeting was a one-day event, coinciding with the University's Alumni Weekend, "Meeting Minds". As a result, our two Jenkin Day lectures were included in the programme for the Alumni Weekend.
The day started with coffee in the Thom Building, followed by the first lecture:
- Professor Martin Oldfield : Keep it cool! 38 years of gas turbine research
The Society's AGM (including the Head of Department's annual report) was then held, followed by a buffet lunch in the Holder Common Room.
After lunch, Lord Jenkin of Roding, the grandson of Frewen Jenkin (our first Professor of Engineering Science) and patron of the Centenary of Engineering in Oxford, introduced the Centenary celebrations. This was followed by the second lecture:
- The 20th Jenkin Lecture
Sir Vivian Ramsey : Law and Engineering: resolution of technology disputes
The day's events concluded with tea.
