2006 Annual Meeting (Friday 22 / Saturday 23 September 2006)
The 2006 meeting repeated the previous year's format, combining a Friday evening dinner with the AGM, Jenkin Lecture and two other talks on the Saturday morning, followed by an inexpensive buffet lunch in the new Information Engineering Building.
The dinner, on Friday 22 September, was held in Mansfield.
The Saturday event started with coffee in the Thom Building, followed by a welcome from Professor Richard Darton, the Head of Department, and continued with the following lectures:
- Dr David Gillespie : Healing Leaks in a Jet Engine
- Dr Paul Buckley : The Place of Plastics in Sustainable Engineering
- The Nineteenth Jenkin Lecture
Rod Smith : Railways: The Technical Challenges of their Renaissance
The day's events concluded with a buffet lunch in the atrium of the Department's new Information Engineering Building.
